The Biggest Update of DOTA 2

            In December 2016, right after the Boston Major, the newest update for DOTA 2 is being released worldwide. Based on the analysis from the tournament in Boston, the creator of DOTA decides to give some refreshments for the game. Many people around the world are hyped and some of them even give their own opinion about how the update and changes can give impact to the players. Many people post their thoughts about it on the Internet and all of them give various thoughts. For now, this is considered as the biggest update for several years since DOTA 2 was created. Based on the information from the official blog, this update will include some gameplay changes, new layout, and some new features.

            One of the changes that give the biggest impact for the players is the gameplay changes. In this update, the gameplay has changed significantly from the previous version such as introducing a new gameplay system called “Talent Tree”. It allows the players to choose different additional abilities for their heroes. Besides that, there are some various bug fixes and rebalance for some abilities in the game. These new changes in gameplay are accepted by some players and some others don’t.

            The other significant change in this update is the change of the layout. The map layout is totally changed, like the size, the position of some camps, more stairs, and more trees. The changes in map layout affect the rune position as well. The bounty runes now have 4 spawn spots every 2 minutes. Besides that, the HUD also changes a lot from the previous one. It is smaller and moved to the center-bottom of the screen. It shows complete data for your heroes such as attributes, items, and status effects. The creator said that this new HUD will give a wider vision in-game. Many players dislike this new layout because it is too small and hard to see the letters on it.

            This update also includes some new features which do not exist in the previous versions. The first is the “Strategy Time” feature that allows each team to arrange their strategy before the game start. This new feature is considered as a very helpful feature by most of the players. It can help them to play better with planned strategy. The other feature is that you can review your match that you have played before. With this feature, the players can analyze their performance in the game, as well as teammates and enemies. By analyzing it, the players believe that it can help them to play better next time.

            By seeing the various responses of the players around the world, this update gives a great impact for them. Some of them don’t like this update and decide to stop playing because there are too many changes that they cannot accept. Some of them like it and try to adapt, they consider this update as the biggest improvement for the game itself and they believe they can play better with some new features. With all those changes, it is obvious that this is the biggest update ever in DOTA 2.
