It was first introduced in 1992, it replaced the previous competition European Champion clubs’ Cup which had run since 1955. The competition has been won by 22 different clubs, 12 of which have won it more than once. Real Madrid was the most successful club in the competition's history, Real Madrid won the competition 11 times. But the most historical victory was when Manchester United won the competition. Manchester United won the competition with a lot of young players in the team. So, it is not just about how good a player you have but it is how smart you to organize the team and be consistent during the competition.
